Here is What 2025 Taught Me
As the year comes to a close, I’ve found myself doing a lot of reflecting. Not just on numbers or milestones, but on the lessons that quietly shaped me behind the scenes. 2025 was a year of growth in every sense of the word, and it taught me more than I ever expected.
It taught me that investing is scary, but necessary. Whether it was investing time, money, energy, or trust in myself, none of it felt easy in the moment. But every step forward required belief before proof, and that leap was worth it every time.
It taught me that real growth only happens outside your comfort zone. The moments I wanted to play it safe were rarely the moments that moved Nicnakknits forward. Growth came from saying yes to the uncomfortable, the unfamiliar, and the things that stretched me more than I thought I was ready for.
It taught me that putting myself out there and taking risks almost always brings reward. Not always in the way I expect, but in ways that matter. Confidence grows. Opportunities appear. Connections deepen.
It also taught me something very real about people. Some will always say they could make it themselves, and that’s okay. But there will always be others who shout praise from the rooftops, who value the story, the craft, and the heart behind handmade. Those are the people I choose to focus on.
This year reminded me how important work-life balance truly is. My family and my own wellbeing deserve just as much intention as my business does. Hustle has its place, but so does rest, presence, and knowing when enough is enough.
And maybe most importantly, 2025 taught me that I am allowed to say no. No to opportunities that don’t align. No to paths that don’t feel right. No to anything that pulls me away from what truly matters. Saying no has made room for better yeses.
As I step into a new year, I’m carrying these lessons with me. Slower. Wiser. More grounded. And incredibly grateful for everything 2025 brought my way.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
